The Ploy is the podcast (internet radio show) I do with Ben May every 2 or so weeks. We have done it since January 2006 and so far like where it is going. Starting this week and from now any week a new episode is released I will be going over what we spoke about…
We award Lindsay Lohan a special award for her nude photos.Netscape is dead, we reminisce, on Hollywood Blitz we pick the Oscar winners, in Tech with Ben we talk wireless connections and we make a few phone calls to some old friends. The Ploy 68 is available at theploy.com.au from Sunday 24th February.
Don’t get me wrong, Barack Obama and John Edwards would make fine candidates for the Democratic nomination for President of the United States of America. However I believe Hilary Clinton is best positioned to lead the States out of the position it is currently in. The rut, the insecurity and the absolute lack of leadership by Congress and the President make it even more important to make the right choice. The incompetency at the top over the last 8 years and the increasing resentment of the United States by the rest of the world makes it necessary to choose someone who is experienced and ready to lead the free world.
America has done nothing for it’s public image over the past 8 years, it has shut itself off, been arrogant about Foreign Policy and displeased allies by continuing with an un-winnable and ill-conceived war. As well as the thug like mentality of the President and the Administration at attempting to get it’s dangerous ‘points’ across such as making empty threats to Iran when it was revealed they have not had the ability or wiliness to build Nuclear Weapons for years and child like taunts by threatening to veto anything the Democratic led Congress wanted to pass.
What is most displeasing about the current Administration is the ‘you’re with us or against us’ stance. It is disheartening to hear persons inside the Republican party throwing around the ‘traitor’ card just because you disagree with the policy in Iraq and the constant blurring of the lines between Iraq and 9/11.
Hilary Clinton is constantly labelled ‘divisive’. The reason that label sticks is because that’s what the Republican machine want the public to think. The GOP want Barack Obama to win the nomination because they know they will defeat him. They know he has the ability to excite and the ability to connect through amazing speeches but still has minimal experience outside of 11 years in the Illinois senate and 3 years as a Junior Senator. He would be crushed due to the lack of experience in a General Election. Hope is fine, the ability to lead is fine but putting hope into action is a totally different story. He is good at Public speaking and writing books but would he make a good President? At this stage of time it it is too dangerous to risk it all on a inexperienced President.
Hilary’s strong history of fighting for free healthcare should also be a strong point to choose her over the other two Democratic candidates.
Nearly 47 million Americans — including 9 million children — don’t have health insurance. America is ready for universal health care. Hillary has the vision and the experience to make it a reality. This is a battle Hillary has fought before — and she has the scars to prove it. She knows better than anyone how to fight and build the political support to get the job done.
I realise Barack Obama has a strong base of support and his optimism is uplifting but his inexperience is a big turn off at point of time. Hillary is the clear choice for more positive and healing time in American Politics.
