I'm not sure asylum seekers are the real problem.
Rather, it's the growth in the world's population.
Two questions no politician will ever answer:
Is continual economic growth possible? and
At what point do we reach saturation level?

Ben May:

Two thoughts I have heard recently that resonate;

a) You can’t please everybody, and that is exactly what Rudd is trying to do, rather than just making a decision and dealing with the ignition it would create.. — Alan Jones, I think.

b) You can’t let your heart rule your mind, to open the flood gates will fill up our already crowded public hospitals / and so on.. (60 Minutes Tonight)

What is it, 1000 people a year come via boat, 100's of thousands overstay Visas coming on planes.

The boat people phenomenon is greatly exaggerated.
