Why Hillary is the right choice

480px-hillary_rodham_clinton.jpgDon’t get me wrong, Barack Obama and John Edwards would make fine candidates for the Democratic nomination for President of the United States of America. However I believe Hilary Clinton is best positioned to lead the States out of the position it is currently in. The rut, the insecurity and the absolute lack of leadership by Congress and the President make it even more important to make the right choice. The incompetency at the top over the last 8 years and the increasing resentment of the United States by the rest of the world makes it necessary to choose someone who is experienced and ready to lead the free world.

America has done nothing for it’s public image over the past 8 years, it has shut itself off, been arrogant about Foreign Policy and displeased allies by continuing with an un-winnable and ill-conceived war. As well as the thug like mentality of the President and the Administration at attempting to get it’s dangerous ‘points’ across such as making empty threats to Iran when it was revealed they have not had the ability or wiliness to build Nuclear Weapons for years and child like taunts by threatening to veto anything the Democratic led Congress wanted to pass.

What is most displeasing about the current Administration is the ‘you’re with us or against us’ stance. It is disheartening to hear persons inside the Republican party throwing around the ‘traitor’ card just because you disagree with the policy in Iraq and the constant blurring of the lines between Iraq and 9/11.

Hilary Clinton is constantly labelled ‘divisive’. The reason that label sticks is because that’s what the Republican machine want the public to think. The GOP want Barack Obama to win the nomination because they know they will defeat him. They know he has the ability to excite and the ability to connect through amazing speeches but still has minimal experience outside of 11 years in the Illinois senate and 3 years as a Junior Senator. He would be crushed due to the lack of experience in a General Election. Hope is fine, the ability to lead is fine but putting hope into action is a totally different story. He is good at Public speaking and writing books but would he make a good President? At this stage of time it it is too dangerous to risk it all on a inexperienced President.

Hilary’s strong history of fighting for free healthcare should also be a strong point to choose her over the other two Democratic candidates.

Nearly 47 million Americans — including 9 million children — don’t have health insurance. America is ready for universal health care. Hillary has the vision and the experience to make it a reality. This is a battle Hillary has fought before — and she has the scars to prove it. She knows better than anyone how to fight and build the political support to get the job done.

I realise Barack Obama has a strong base of support and his optimism is uplifting but his inexperience is a big turn off at point of time. Hillary is the clear choice for more positive and healing time in American Politics.

Still a Global Warming denier?

image.jpgIt’s hard to believe that some people still deny Global Warming exists or think that humans have little to no impact on it. Well even though science has spoken and scientists funded by big oil and business try to become ‘the other side of the debate’ when it does not exist, most people now know we are directly affecting the fate of the planet. It isn’t about politics and its shameful when people make it about it. It’s about humanity and how comfortable we can live on this earth without being directly effected by heat, storms, rising seas and even more storms and unpredictable weather patterns. Unpredictable weather and rising sea levels are two key warning signs of global warming - let’s just hope we don’t leave it too late to save low lying islands and towns.

To those of you who are still stuck in the dark ages of being a Global Warming denier read these rebuttals to Myths, deniers want to put out in the public dialogue about Global Warming to confuse and intimidate. I am sure I will recieve a comment and or email about this post from those deniers lambasting me for posting about Global Warming as they nearly always do - the only place they wish to hear about Global Warming is from a hack speaking on behalf of big interests. Nobody else.

Tired Thompson may drop out and back McCain

Fred Thompson the most right leaning and the candidate who appeared to look like he was on the verge of falling asleep the entire campaign may be about to back out the race if he does poorly in the caucus. Let’s hope so anyway, America doesn’t need another Neocon! John McCain out of all the Republicans is the one man I could stand as President.

080102_thompsonmccain.jpgDES MOINES, Iowa – Several Republican officials close to Fred Thompson’s presidential campaign said they expect the candidate will drop out of the race within days if he finishes poorly in Thursday’s Iowa caucus. Thompson’s campaign, which last spring and summer was generating fevered anticipation in the media and with some Republican activists, has never ignited nationally, and there are no signs of a late spark happening here in Iowa, where even a third-place finish is far from assured.

This reality—combined with a fundraising drought—left well-connected friends and advisers of Thompson Wednesday evening predicting that he will pull the plug on hype and hope before the Jan. 8 New Hampshire primary. Thompson’s departure could shake up the race more than his continued presence. Friends and advisers said they have long considered it likely that if the lobbyist-actor is forced from the race he would endorse John McCain his former Senate colleague who lately has been staging a political revival in New Hampshire. “Without a solid third-place finish, there’s no point in going on,” a Thompson adviser said Wednesday. “It was an honorable race, and he turned out to be a good candidate. The moment had just passed.”

Paul Tevis must be upset after publicy backing him!
