Copying Success?
Funny, now I have something to write about. I have been paying attention to the This Week in Tech Podcast goings on at the moment and a group of fans created a fan podcast. I co-created a podcast a while back along those same lines (Leoville Townsquare Podcast or LTS Podcast) and now I see that podcast as a grave mistake. Riding off someones success which I believe they and LTS podcast are doing is quite sad. It either means you are a huge fan which is fair enough and/or means you have no creativity to create something of your own. I went on to create many podcasts after LTS including The Ploy which I do to this day with Ben May.
After leaving LTS months and months ago realising what it was and understanding the people who criticised the show were right, riding off the success of others isn’t something to be celebrated. People who do these shows even in good faith and even with consent of people like Leo Laporte need to realise what they are doing and find another outlet and get some creativity otherwise put up with the opinions of others like myself that what they are doing is glorifying a lazy persons attitude to podcasting.

200 posts and nothing to write about…
Long time, no post. I really have not had anything I wanted to write about lately. As this is the 200th post I wanted something good to write about but nothing that has been going on bothered me enough to post. So instead I will just update some news, A new podcast has joined Negative Penguin Media. It is a daily technology podcast and so far sounds good. We are slowly increasing our lineup and we all agree moving slow is neccesary so mistakes are kept to a minium.
Firefox 2.0 has been released. I had been using the beta’s and release candidates for a while and really like it. The fresher look is very pleasing to the eye and I love the spell check feature. Always handy to have especially while writing a blog post. You don”t know how many times I have posted and had to edit posts over and over as I never notice my mistakes until they are already posted.
Thats my news that I care to share. Here is to 200 more posts.

One year of posts
Next month, November 2006 marks the one year anniversary of this blog/website. I have had alot of fun posting here during that time. It has moved from Blogspot to Wordpress.com then I finally got a server to put the Wordpress software on and have been loving it since. Wordpress in my opinion is the superior blogging platform. Nothing surpasses it software wise. Just for good old fashioned blogging Wordpress is second to none. I have tried VOX and most likely will stop posting there soon this is my blog I have control over it, I can customise it to be mine.
Allot has happened in the one year period since this blog started in my personal life and yet I rarely post about any of it. I enjoy posting about my interests I have never been into doing an online diary. However being able to write and post opinions is what I think blogging is about and I doubt I will stop anytime soon. Not to mention I paid 6 months in advance for hosting so I ain’t letting it go to waste!
Thanks to people who have read it since I began and to those who stumble upon it once in a while. It has been fun. Oh and for the record this is post 199.

Arrested Development
I must admit I hardly ever laugh at television or movies. I find alot extremely predictable and cliched. However after watching an episode of the Emmy award winning comedy series Arrested Development tonight, I actually did laugh many times out loud. It was at the episode named “Motherboy XXX”. Where the character George Michael, son of the main character who is played by Jason Bateman is dragged along by his grandmother to a Mother and Son dance. It was a very funny episode and after not watching Arrested Development for a while it really made me want to watch more. I have seen almost every episode (all of them I think) of the first season. I have only just started watching parts of the second season and obviously enjoying it. It makes me wonder why the program didn’t catch on and was cancelled despite numerous Emmy wins? Do people really want predictable, laugh track sitcoms? If they do I pity the mainstream audience alot, they surely are missing out on a very funny program.
