Updated.

WP

I finally got around to updating Wordpress to 2.0.3. It was released more than 2 weeks ago but I waiting as last time cPanel added it and I just had to click “update” but this time it didn’t so I had to manually do it. I think I screwed it up a little so I had to re-add sidebar stuff etc… It took a little while but it is now done. I just hope 2.0.4 isnt released too soon.

Offline but Virtually there

Podshow

Lately I have been playing The Sims 2 and it’s latest expansion pack “Open for Business“. I have had it for a while but after reformatting didn’t reinstall it. So I decided to this week and have been hooked building a Electronics Supercentre. The premise sounds simple and even boring, yet controlling a sim and making simoleans (Sim Dollars). While making sure the staff and customers are happy. I just sat there for literally 2 hours not moving and not noticing what time it was. It really gets you in and wont let you out til your too tired you have to hit the sack.

It also helps the game with such cheats as “moveobjects on” and “maxmotives” my two favourites alongside “motherlode” of course. I wish I could get $50,000 from just typing “motherlode”.

Other good news, for Australians anyways is The Daily Show with Jon Stewart is finally coming downunder! Horray! The Australian Pay-TV channel “The Comedy Channel” has picked up the program and will air it Weeknights 9.30pm. Just hours after it airs in America. It is about time, like me if your a fan you had to just watch the global edition on CNN or get it online. Sucks if you don’t have cable though, luckily I do so I will be watching.

June 2006 Poll Results

So the poll is over and Vizu seems like a good peice of software. Try it out I was impressed and may use it again in the future.

The Question was How many podcasts do you listen to on a regular basis and the results are below. I was pleasently suprised to see that at least with visitors to this site are avid listeners of podcasts. Good to hear!

The New Apple Advertisements

Podshow

The ad above is part of a new line of advertisements from Apple Computers. This line of promotions which are easy on the eye make out that each man is in fact a type of computer. The Suited man is a PC and the casually clothed man is a mac.

Judging by the clothing worn by the “computers” it appears as if PC’s are old and tired and Mac’s are younger and more cutting edge. To me it looks like they are saying Mac’s for younger people who look drugged and PC’s are for older professionals.

However they are funny and explain issues like viruses etc… well for novices check them out.

June 2006 Poll

There is a new poll service on the sidebar of the site (using Ajax) and I encourage you to vote. It is simple easy and safe. Also feel free to comment on the poll via this post’s comments or after you vote on the polls comments (a link will appear after voting). The Poll is from Vizu and I found out about this poll service from John Dvorak’s blog which is currently using it.
Thanks.

A matter of revolution

If you’re going to start a media revolution, which is what this is totally about, it’s harder to do it in New York, because it’s the capital of publishing. You can’t do it Los Angeles either, because of Hollywood…It had to be here, where we’re media

Podshow

Adam Curry speaking about the media revolution that he believes PodShow to be. He seems to overhype things sometimes. I have to say a company like PodShow is all well and good but the whole media revolution thing dosen’t belong with a company like PodShow it belongs with small podcasters with something important to say. A network like PodShow can house some of these podcasts but because of its size it is doubtful it will be a independent voice of the people and is likely to be the monster Podcast housing corporation with podcasts just like commercial radio shows with more swearing. That is not a “media revolution”.
